Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers has added another name to its cast list—Michael Shannon.

Shannon joins Melissa McCarthy, Nicole Kidman, Manny Jacinto, Luke Evans, Melvin Gregg, Asher Keddie, Grace Van Patten, Samara Weaving, and Tiffany Boone in the series which is based on the Lianne Moriarty (Big Little Lies) book.

Nine Perfect Strangers is set at a boutique health-and-wellness resort that promises its nine stressed guests healing and transformation as a way to lead a healthier life. Masha (Kidman), the resort’s director, watches over them during their 10-day retreat. Masha has a mission of her own, and the guests have no idea what’s in store for them.

Shannon will play Napoleon, half of a married couple who lost their twin son and is on the retreat with their daughter.

Shannon’s recent TV credits include At Home With Amy Sedaris, The Little Drummer Girl, Room 104, Our Cartoon President and he was in the films Knives Out and Shape of Water.

Nine Perfect Strangers hopes to debut in 2021.
