A Very English Scandal produced several follow-ups chronicling the most scandalous moments in modern British history, and another one is on the way. Michael Sheen and Ruth Wilson landed lead roles in the upcoming mini-series A Very Royal Scandal.

This limited series will chronicle Prince Andrew’s disastrous interview with Newsnight’s reporter Emily Maitlis. It will follow Maitlis’ (Wilson) professional and personal journey as she prepares for her acclaimed interview with the disgraced royal Prince Andrew (Sheen).

In addition to the leading duo, A Very Royal Scandal will also star Joanna Scanlan as Amanda Thirsk, Alex Jennings as Sir Edward Young, and Éanna Hardwicke as Stewart Maclean. Julian Jarrold is coming on board as director and serves as one of the executive producers alongside Karen Thrussell, Graham Broadbent, Pete Czernin, Diarmuid McKeown, Jeremy Brock, and Maitlis.

Ruth Willson, the Emmy-winning star of The Affair, most recently appeared in the BBC mystery drama The Woman in the Wall. She’s also attached to the biopic The Book of Ruth and star-studded drama Andorra.

Michael Sheen is leading Amazon Prime Video’s fantasy series Good Omens alongside David Tennant, and he also appeared in the British series Staged and Best Interests earlier this year.
