Michelle Williams’ made a very successful foray into the world of television with Fosse/Verdon, and she set her eyes on her next juicy TV role. The Emmy-winning actress landed a lead role in the upcoming drama Dying for S-x, which she’ll also produce.

Dying for S-x is based on the hit Wondery podcast, and it centers on a woman whose life turns upside down after she’s diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. After getting encouragement to live her life to the fullest from her best friend, she decides to leave her husband of 15 years and explore her sensual side.

Dying for S-x hails from writers Liz Meriwether (The Dropout) and Kim Rosenstock (Only Murders in the Building), while Leslye Headland (Acolyte) is coming on board as a director.

Williams previously collaborated with FX on the acclaimed mini-series Fosse/Verdon, for which she received an Emmy, Golden Globe, and SAG Award. She’s excited to join forces with FX again, especially for this female-led story with a female-led cast and crew.

“I’m really looking forward to going back to somewhere that feels like a creative home for me and where they support me, they believe in me, they listen to me and make room for me. I’m so happy to be able to return there,” Williams told Deadline.
