ABC has scrapped The Middle spinoff Sue Sue in the City.
The Sue-centered series starring Eden Sher, was to follow the adventures of eternal optimist Sue Heck as she leaves the small town of Orson to navigate life, love and work as a young adult in the big city of Chicago
The spinoff was set in motion just as The Middle ended its nine-season run. The single-camera comedy hailed from The Middle creators/executive producers Eileen Heisler and DeAnn Heline and was ordered by ABC to pilot in August.
Starring opposite Sher was Brock Ciarlelli as Brad Bottig, as well as Chris Diamantopoulos, Kimberley Crossman, Finesse Mitchell, and Aaron Branch cast as series regulars.
Deadline reports that the spinoff might be shopped to other outlets and that producing studio Warner Bros. TV is interested in the project.
