From Taylor Swift to Beyoncé, all our favorite pop stars seem to be busy touring right now, but Miley Cyrus isn’t one of them. It’s been almost a decade since her last arena tour, and she’s not planning to hit the road anytime soon because she believes there’s no connection in this type of performance.

Cyrus recently set down with British Vogue to discuss her latest album Endless Summer Vacation. She touched upon many subjects in this cover story, including why she hasn’t headlined an arena tour ever since her Bangerz Tour in 2014.

Cyrus told the magazine that she has no desire to embark on a massive world tour because she doesn’t want to live her life for anyone else’s pleasure or fulfillment other than her own.

“Singing for hundreds of thousands of people isn’t really the thing that I love. There’s no connection. There’s no safety… It’s also not natural. It’s so isolating because if you’re in front of 100,000 people then you are alone,” she told British Vogue.

The Bangerz Tour was Cyrus’ last major headlining world tour, and she shifted her focus to more intimate shows in recent years. Her latest Attention Tour last year only included a handful of dates in North and South America.
