Miley Cyrus decided to mark the 15th anniversary of her iconic character Hannah Montana with a heartwarming two-page letter posted on Twitter.

Cyrus addressed Montana directly in the letter and expresses her love for the character. “Although you are considered to be an ‘alter ego,’ in reality, there was a time in my life when you held more of my identity in your glovette than I did in my bare hands,” Cyrus wrote at one point.

The 28-year-old singer then went on to describe some of the events from the filming of Disney’s popular show before thanking Montana for the lessons she taught her.

Cyrus ended the letter by calling Montana “the greatest gift a girl could ask for.”

Hannah Montana revolved around a teenage girl named Miley Stewart (Cyrus), who adopts an alter ego, Hannah Montana, in order to hide the fact that she is a famous pop star. The series premiered in March 2006 and had a four-season run before wrapping up in 2011.

Disney also released a concert film titled Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert and a feature Hannah Montana: The Movie. The latter was a box office hit, earning $170 million compared to a $30 million budget.

According to recent reports, Disney is thinking about reviving Hannah Montana as a prequel series. The spinoff would follow Miley Stewart’s rise to fame.
