Some things are worth ending friendships over.
Just ask Mindy Kaling of The Mindy Project.
In case you haven’t yet heard, the world is currently split over a specific voice recording, with some hearing “yanny” and others “laurel”.
The recording is basically the audio version of 2015’s black-and-blue VS white-and-gold dress debate.
And now, it appears, it might be the cause of Mindy and her bestie and former The Office co-star, BJ Novak, ending their famed friendship.
The 38-year-old shared a screenshot of their text conversation to her Instagram story where she wrote: “Hey. We’ve had a long friendship. You mean a lot to me. But if you don’t hear Yanny, it’s over.”
In response, the actor said, “Obviously Laurel… who hears Yanny?”
Other celebs have also weighed in on the controversial clip, with author Stephen King and singer Bebe Rexha Team Yanny:
It’s Yanny.

While Ellen DeGeneres and Chrissy Teigen are Laurel all the way:
it's so clearly laurel. I can't even figure out how one would hear yanny.

Literally everything at my show just stopped to see if people hear Laurel or Yanny. I hear Laurel. https://t.co/efWRw1Gj0L

Compromise is good, kids.
