Several cult British comedies have been remade for the American market, and Peep Show is the next one in line. FX ordered a pilot based on the iconic Channel 4 sitcom, with Minnie Driver and Amandla Jahava in the lead roles.

The new version of Peep Show will put a twist on the original, and focus on an emotionally unstable tech entrepreneur (Driver) and her long-suffering assistant (Jahava). The British series centered on two dysfunctional roommates, played by David Mitchell and Robert Webb.

Jahava is a relative newcomer in Hollywood, and we’ve recently seen her in HBO Max’s Rap S—t. Minnie Driver previously received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for another FX series, The Riches, and her recent credits include The Witcher: Blood Origin and Starstruck.

The new version of Peep Show was written and produced by Stefani Robinson, executive producer of Atlanta and What We Do in the Shadows. She also serves as showrunner, while Yana Gorskaya is coming on board as a director and executive producer.

Peep Show ran on Channel 4 from 2003 until 2015, and it went on to become a cult classic, often making it to the lists of the best British comedies of the 21st century. In addition to the leading duo, the series also starred Oliva Colman, Matt King, Sophie Winkleman, Neil Fitzmaurice, and Paterson Joseph.
