Mission: Impossible – Fallout is a huge hit with the critics.

The first reviews of Christopher McQuarrie’s latest addition to the M.I. franchise have been released and they are overwhelmingly positive.

Although typically considered a reliable franchise when it comes to action-packed entertainment, as the sixth installment of the franchise, there was the worry that the story would become stale. According to critics, however, M.I.: Fallout is the most exhilarating movie yet.

IndieWire gave it notably high praise, stating: “It doesn’t take long to recognize that Mission: Impossible — Fallout is one of the best action movies ever made.”

Variety called it the “most exciting installment yet” and Digital Spy said: “With impeccable stuntwork and crisp direction, Fallout delivers intense and thrilling set pieces that pack a punch with a weight and realism that few other blockbusters can match. What’s more, each one feels like something other action movies might use for a climax. Here though, a skydive through a lightning storm or an extended foot chase through and above London is just the warm-up.”

The action hit sees Tom Cruise reprise his role as top agent Ethan Hunt. Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames and Rebecca Ferguson also star as fellow IMF agents.

At present, the movie rates 9.5/10 and 97% on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie will be released to the general public in local cinemas later this month.
