The saga of US President Bill Clinton and White House intern, Monica Lewinsky, is burned into the history books (and memories), and will now be coming to the screen.

After unpacking the stories behind the trial of disgraced football player OJ Simpson and the assassination of fashion designer Gianni Versace, American Crime Story will be turning its attention to the impeachment of the former statesman.

“This franchise re-examines some of the most complicated, polarising stories in recent history in a way that is relevant, nuanced and entertaining,” stated chairman of FX Networks and FX Productions, John Landgraf. “Impeachment: American Crime Story will likewise explore the overlooked dimensions of the women who found themselves caught up in the scandal and political war… We are grateful to Sarah Burgess for her brilliant adaptation, as well as Ryan Murphy, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Brad Falchuk, Larry Karaszewski, Scott Alexander, Alexis Martin Woodall, Sarah Paulson and the rest of the creative team and cast.”

Beanie Feldstein, Annaleigh Ashford, and Sarah Paulson have all been slated to star.

The third season of American Crime Story is due out on September 27th, 2020.
