Mötley Crüe’s bassist Nikki Sixx will present his new memoir later this year. Titled The First 21: How I Became Nikki Sixx, the book will follow Sixx’s early years and how his music career came to be.

The memoir is already available for pre-order and is set to arrive on October 19th.

“You’ve heard the tales of excess and debauchery. All the peaks and the valleys that came with rock & roll stardom and my life in one of the world’s biggest bands. This is the story that you haven’t heard. The one that led up to those stories,” Sixx said in a statement.

The First 21 follows Sixx’s previous writing effort, The Heroin Diaries (2007), in which he detailed his battle with drug addiction. He also took part in writing Mötley Crüe’s autobiography The Dirt: Confessions of the World’s Most Notorious Rock Band alongside his bandmates. The latter one was a New York Times bestseller and was adapted into a live-action feature by Netflix.

Nikki Sixx co-founded Mötley Crüe in 1981 and has served as the group’s primary songwriter since then. The band has released nine studio albums so far and is considered one of the best heavy metal acts by fans and critics.

Besides his work with Mötley Crüe, Sixx was also involved with a number of other bands, including Sixx:A.M., Brides of Destruction, 58, and Sister.
