The MTV Movie & TV Awards are the latest award show to get pushed back and the franchise is looking towards moving the show to December instead of hosting a virtual event. Although an official date was never announced, the show usually takes place at the end of June, but due to the coronavirus, it’s been postponed.

MTV is currently thinking about airing the Video Music Awards in August at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and they told Variety earlier this month that they plan on taking the necessary health precautions to ensure everyone’s safety, “The health of everyone involved is our number one priority. Additionally, we are working on several contingency plans to bring music’s biggest night to audiences everywhere.”

If the show doesn’t happen later this year, it will be the first time MTV hasn’t had an award show since it began in 1991.

Last year’s big winners were Avengers: Endgame for best movie and Game of Thrones for best show. Lady Gaga won the award for best movie performance in A Star is Born and Elizabeth Moss won for best TV performance in The Handmaid’s Tale.
