It seems that the next Thor movie will follow one of the more interesting story arcs from the comics. Earlier we learned that Taika Waititi, the director of Thor: Ragnarok, will sit in the director’s chair for the next installment – Thor: Love and Thunder, and now we learn about a new return to the cast – Natalie Portman.

Portman is due to return to the role of Jane Foster, but she’ll probably be more than just the love interest of the protagonist – as in the comics, Foster will probably wield the thunder god’s power herself.

At San Diego Comic-Con yesterday, Portman appeared next to her co-stars Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson holding Mjolnir, the famous hammer of Thor. “I’ve always had hammer envy”, said Portman.

Waititi said in the panel that during the shooting of Thor: Ragnarok he read Jason Aaron’s comics run “The Mighty Thor,” which included the passing of the power to foster. For him, there was only one person who could play the role – Natalie Portman.

So will we really get to see the thunder goddess? We’ll have to wait till November 5, 2021 – the release date of the movie.
