Natalie Portman to Narrate “Dolphin Reef” for Disney+

Disney+ has tapped Natalie Portman to narrate its newest wildlife-centered feature.

Portman is heading to the studio’s newly branded Disneynature to narrate the forthcoming feature film, Dolphin Reef. She will narrate a coming-of-age dolphin journey story.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story centers on Echo, “a young Pacific bottlenose dolphin who can’t quite decide if it’s time to grow up and take on new responsibilities. That is, until he can’t resist the many adventures the ocean has to offer.”

The feature is helmed by Disneynature’s Bears director Keith Scholey.

Just last week Disneynature released Penguins in theaters. The film has grossed $2.3 million to date.

Disney’s foray into the world of streaming services is set to launch November 12. The platform will feature content from Marvel, Walt Disney Studios Animation and National Geographic.
