Johnson will serve as writer, director, and executive producer and Lyonne will executive produce and star in the series Poker Face. Peacock has ordered 10 episodes of the one-hour series.
The series will be Johnson’s first time writing a TV series. He previously directed episodes of Breaking Bad and Terriers. Johnson is best known for his work in Knives Out, Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi, Brick, and Looper.
“I’m very excited to dig into the type of fun, character driven, case-of-the-week mystery goodness I grew up watching,” Johnson said. “It’s my happy place. Having Natasha as a partner in crime is a dream, and we’ve found the perfect home at Peacock.”
Lyonne co-created, stars in, and executive produces Russian Doll, which just began production of Season 2. She’s known for her role in Orange Is the New Black and is currently starring in United Stated vs Billie Holiday.
