Houston Rockets’ point guard Chris Paul already showed that he is one of the best basketball players in the world. Now he will have an opportunity to show his hosting and showmanship talents.

The 33-year-old will serve as a host at the upcoming 2018 Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Sports Awards, as was confirmed by the network on Thursday. The ceremony will be taped at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica on July 19 and aired July 22 on Nickelodeon.

“I am honored that Nickelodeon asked me to host this year’s Kids’ Choice Sports Awards,” said Paul in a statement. “I grew up on Nickelodeon and now love watching it with my kids, and I can’t wait to share this experience with them. I promise to bring the fun, the slime and the most epic stunts in Kids’ Choice Sports history.”

Chris Paul will replace Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, who served as a host in the previous two years. You can check out Paul talking about his hosting gig in the video below.

Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Sports Awards was launched in 2014 and honors kids’ favorite athletes and the most unforgettable sports moments. The nominations will be revealed early next month.

In the meantime, Chris Paul will have his hands full trying to get his Houston Rockets to a win against the current NBA champions Golden State Warriors.
