Multi-season pickups don’t happen extremely often, but NBC just gave one to their hit show This Is Us. They renewed this award-winning family drama for an additional three seasons.

This Is Us was a success story for the network ever since it premiered in 2016, and each of the current seasons received good ratings and critical acclaim. Creator Dan Fogelman has a clear vision for the future of this series, but it’s still too early to say if Season 6 is going to be its last.

Lisa Katz and Tracey Pakosta, presidents of scripted programming for NBC Entertainment, released an official statement announcing the renewal of this show, that so well represents their brand and has a more critical and cultural impact than most of the other shows airing right now.

“A huge thank you and congratulations to our executive producers, cast and crew who reach new heights every week with the show’s inventive and compelling storytelling,” reads their official statement.

Each of the upcoming episodes will consist of 18 episodes, and members of the main cast are expected to return to their respective roles.
