Neil Patrick Harris has joined Nicolas Cage’s The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.
Harris will star opposite Pedro Pascal, Tiffany Haddish, and Sharon Horgan in the action-packed comedy.
In the film, Cage is set to star as actor Nicolas Cage. Desperate to get a role in a new Quentin Tarantino movie, Cage is also dealing with a strained relationship with his teenage daughter and is also under a mountain of debt. He finds himself forced to make an appearance at the birthday party of a Mexican billionaire, who happens to be a drug cartel kingpin who has kidnapped the daughter of a Mexican presidential nominee. Cage is then subsequently recruited by the U.S. government to get intelligence.
Harris will play Cage’s talent agent. Horgan has been cast as Cage’s ex-wife. Haddish is set to play an eccentric rogue government agent.
The script was written by Tom Gormican and Kevin Etten, with Gormican attached to direct.
