Netflix has given us one of its most acclaimed animated shows with Big Mouth, but all good things must come to an end. The Emmy-winning adult animated comedy has been renewed for its eighth and final season, while its spinoff Human Resources will end with its upcoming second season.

Billy Wee, Netflix’s director of adult animation, confirmed that both shows are ending in an official statement and reflected on their impact over the course of the past decade.

“Big Mouth is a towering achievement in animated comedy that will make Netflix history for its longevity. We are thrilled that we still have two more hilarious seasons to share with fans before this brilliant coming-of-age story reaches its conclusion,” said Wee in a statement.

Big Mouth was created for Netflix by Andrew Goldberg, Nick Kroll, Mark Levin, and Jennifer Flackett and it premiered on this streaming platform back in 2017. The series is inspired by Kroll and Goldberg’s teenage years in New York, and it offered an honest look at puberty and growing up.

Spinoff series Human Resources will end with the upcoming second season, set to premiere later this year. The characters from this series will flow into new episodes of Big Mouth, and its final season will serve as a sendoff for both shows.
