Penn Badgley in "You"

The last season of the Netflix show You ended in a cliffhanger as Joe and Love settled down in a Los Angeles suburb. This move apparently didn’t sit well with Joe who set his eyes on the mysterious next-door neighbor. Now, finally, after a long break due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the third season started filming.

Netflix announced the event on its social media accounts, writing: “We recommend you stay at least 6 feet from Joe Goldberg at all times. You Season 3 is back in production.” The attached photo shows actor Penn Badgley (Joe) wearing a mask with the writing “Hello You”—a phrase the show’s audience recognizes immediately.

The first episode of the new season is titled “And They Lived Happily Ever After.” It is directed by Silver Tree, who was an executive producer on the show’s second season. The episode was written by the series creator Sera Gamble and writer Mairin Reed.

The new season of You will see three new additions to the cast—Shalita Grant from Search Party, Travis Van Winkle from Transformers, and Scott Speedman from Underworld.

You is based on a series of books by Caroline Kepnes. the first two books were published in 2014 and 2016 and the third book, You Love Me, is set to be published in April, 2021.
