Post-apocalyptic series Daybreak earned a cult following since it premiered on Netflix, but failed to break into the mainstream, and it will be leaving this streaming service after only one season.

Daybreak followed the adventures of a high school outcast who joins a group of fellow misfits and faces many strange challenges in his attempt to find his missing girlfriend in post-apocalyptic Glendale, California.

Co-creator Aron Coleite shared the news of the show’s cancellation on Twitter and said they’re grateful for getting the opportunity to bring the series this far, despite the fact they’re heartbroken for not being able to share more stories with their loyal fans. “Thank you for picking up what we put down, for running with it in all of your amazing, weird, monstrous ways and for being such an important part of this show and our experience making it,” he said in a statement.

Daybreak started streaming on Netflix on October 24th, and it starred s Colin Ford, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Sophie Simnett, Austin Crute, Cody Kearsley, and Matthew Broderick.
