Hilary Swank’s science fiction drama series Away has not been renewed for a second season. The news comes just over a month after Season 1 was released.
Created by Andrew Hinderaker, Away was inspired by Chris Jones’ Esquire article of the same name.
Hilary Swank stars as astronaut Emma Green who leads the first crewed expedition to Mars called the Mars Joint Initiative aboard the spaceship “Atlas”. Green’s crew includes international members from China, Russia, India, and the U.K., who are experts in the field. Problems start arising when some of the members don’t trust Green’s leadership after she responds to a problem at the beginning of the mission.
Season 1 consisted of 10 episodes and also starred Josh Charles, Vivian Wu, Mark Ivanir, Ato Essandoh, Ray Panthaki, and Talitha Bateman. Ingram, Adam Irigoyen, Diana Bang, John Murphy, Derrick Su, and Olena Medwid.
