From still photos to short snippets, Netflix has given us several glimpses of the first Bridgerton spinoff, but they finally decided to seal the deal! The first full teaser for Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is here and it chronicles the rise of one of Bridgerton’s most formidable supporting characters.
This promising project chronicles Queen Charlotte’s rise to prominence, and it shows how her marriage to King George sparked a great love story, while also causing a societal shift that created the world of the Ton inherited by the characters in Bridgerton.
India Amarteifio takes on the role of the young Queen Charlotte, with Corey Mylchreest joining her as the young King George III, but the trailer also features a few familiar faces. Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte), Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury), Ruth Gemmell (Violet), and Hugh Sachs (Brimsley) will return to their roles from the original series.
In addition to dropping the official teaser, Netflix also shared several new photos from the series and revealed that Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story will premiere on May 4. Shonda Rhimes will return as showrunner, executive producer, and writer, while Tom Verica is coming on board as a director.
