Netflix has been doing a great job teasing Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story and they just gave us one thing we’ve all been waiting for. The first full trailer for the highly-anticipated Bridgerton spinoff is finally here, and it chronicles Queen Charlotte’s rise to the top.

The new trailer perfectly captures Charlotte’s reluctance to marry into the royal family—until she finally comes to face to face with King George. The sparks instantly start to fly, but a lot of drama and frustration lie ahead for the young couple despite their love and devotion to each other.

Golda Rosheuvel will return to play the older version of Queen Charlotte, introduced in Netflix’s hit series Bridgerton. This spinoff will tell her origin story and capture her marriage to King George, which sparked an epic love story but also created a societal shift, creating the world of the Ton inherited by the characters in Bridgerton.

In addition to Rosheuvel, Adjoa Andoh (Agatha Danbury) and Ruth Gemmell (Violet Bridgerton) will also return to their roles from the original series. The young cast will include India Amarteifio and Corey Mylchreest as the young Queen Charlotte and King George, with Michelle Fairley, Arsema Thomas, Sam Clemmett, and Freddie Dennis in supporting roles.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story will premiere on Netflix on May 4 and it will feature six episodes.
