After two years in the making, the third season of The Witcher is just two months away. Netflix gave us a taste of things to come with a short teaser trailer, which sees Henry Cavill playing Geralt of Rivia for one last time.

Season 3 will see Geralt trying to reach his childhood home of Kaer Morhen in order to protect Princess Cirilla (Freya Allan), after being convinced that Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) died at the gruesome Battle of Sodden.

Season 3 will mark the last time we see Henry Cavill in the role of Geralt of Rivia after he announced his exit in October last year. Fans were hoping he would return to the series following his Superman exit, but Netflix’s Peter Friedlander assured fans they’re sticking to Liam Hemsworth, who’s set to replace him in Season 4.

“Henry is an extraordinary Geralt and I think Liam will continue and also be an extraordinary Geralt. There has been a legacy of amazing, iconic characters where the actors have changed and we’re hugely optimistic about this,” Friedlander told Variety.

Season 3 of The Witcher will be divided into two parts, with the first five episodes streaming on June 29. We’ll have to wait until July 27 to see the final three episodes.
