Friends fans rejoice! The ’90s-era sitcom will stream on Netflix throughout 2019.

It’s been a whirlwind of a week for Friends’ fans around the world after a rumor that Netflix is dropping the hit NBC sitcom.

News that Friends is leaving the streaming giant at the end of 2018 sent the series’ fans into overdrive. The rumors gained traction given that WarnerMedia, the company that owns the rights to Friends, is planning to launch its own streaming service next year.

The streaming service was quick to respond to the hysteria, assuring fans that Friends is here to stay. The service took to Twitter writing “The Holiday Armadillo has granted your wish: Friends will still be there for you in the US throughout 2019.”

Sources differ on the price tag that Netflix paid to keep the next year— the highest figure of $100 million was reported by The New York Times.

Jennifer Aniston told The Associated Press at the premiere of her Netflix film Dumplin that she’s blown away by the series’ popularity, one that would prompt Netflix big money to keep it.

“I find it amazing that it’s continued to have such love and such an audience and such an appetite for it. I think it says a lot about the show. Especially since it takes place at a time where it’s so different from now.”
