The latest victim to the Coronavirusspread and the cautionary steps taken against it is Netflix’s hit series The witcher. Filming of the series’ second season began last February in the UK and the streamer giant has planned for a 2021 release date, but now the production has come to a halt and there is no information of an alternative release date.

According to The Wrap, the production is being delayed for at least two weeks. Whether it will be longer or not, depends, of course, on the Coronavirus situation.

When it will return, we will see Henry Cavill coming back to play the titular Witcher, Geralt of Rivia alongside Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Joey Batey as the bard Jaskier, and Freya Allan as princess Ciri. several other cast members are also set to return; Game of Thrones’ Kristofer Hivju who will play Nivellen, Young Wallender’s Yasen Atour as Coen, Peaky Blinders’ Paul Bullion as Lambert, Fast and Furious 9’s Thue Ersted Rasmussen as Eskel, Mecia Simson as Francesca, and The Danish Girl’s Aisha Fabienne Ross as Lydia.
