Resident Evil already conquered the world of gaming, became a successful movie series and is finally coming to our small screens as Netflix is currently working on a TV adaptation for this successful horror franchise.

Not much is known about this project at this point in time, but German production and distribution company Constantin Film is the driving force behind the deal. They were also in charge of transforming the Resident Evil games into a movie franchise.

According to Deadline, the new series will “explore the dark inner workings of the Umbrella Corporation and the new world order caused by the outbreak of the T-virus”. It should further expand the Resident Evil universe, while sticking to the basic premise of the games and movies we all know and love.

The existing film franchise starring Milla Jovovich wrapped up in 2016 with Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. Rumors of potential reboot have been circling around ever since, and it seems Netflix will finally make this happen.
