Wednesday set several major records since premiering on Netflix and it was just a matter of time before it was renewed for the second season. That moment is finally here and the streaming giant confirmed they’ll be inviting us back into the spooky world of Nevermore.

Wednesday premiered on Netflix on November 23 and it offered a fresh take on The Addams Family, centering on Wednesday Addams’ teenage years at Nevermore Academy. Co-showrunners Miles Millar and Alfred Gough confirmed the show’s renewal in a joint statement and revealed what we can expect when Wednesday comes back.

“We can’t wait to dive headfirst into another season and explore the kooky, spooky world of Nevermore. We just need to make sure Wednesday hasn’t emptied the pool first,” the duo told Tudum.

The leading lady Jenna Ortega came back for the show’s renewal announcement, appearing in character in a short clip and saying, “Over the past few weeks, I’ve been hunted, haunted, and mimicked millions of times across the internet… It’s been pure torture. Thank you.”

The trailer was soundtracked by the remix of Lady Gaga’s “Bloody Mary”, which was featured in countless viral videos by TikTok users recreating Wednesday’s dance from the show. In addition to becoming a viral sensation, Wednesday became the second-most-watched English-language Netflix series and scored two Golden Globe nominations.
