Netflix Orders More Lucifer Episodes

The fifth season and final season of Lucifer just got a whole lot bigger.

Folioing the supernatural crime drama’s final season pick up by Netflix just last month, the streaming giant now announced that it has added six episodes to the season’s count.

News of the expanded send-off was announced Friday via Netflix’s See What’s Next account.

Lucifer Season 5 just got a HELL of a lot better — and bigger,” it reads. “We’ve added six more hours, for a grand total of 16 episodes!”

While 16 episodes are much better than the initially planned 10, the final season of the show is still considerably shorter than when originally ran on Fox. The first three installments of the series had 26 episodes each.

“We are so incredibly thankful to Netflix for … letting us finish the story of Lucifer on our terms. Most importantly, we want to thank the fans for their incredible passion and support. The best is yet to come!” co-showrunner Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson said of the original final-season pickup.
