Netflix Orders Second Season of “Elite”

The teen thriller will be back with the second season. 

The streaming giant has renewed the mysterious coming-of-age series Elite for a second season. The news was announced Wednesday in Spain. 

Elite is Netflix’s second Spanish original drama. It was released worldwide on October 5. The first eight-episode season followed the intrigue at Las Encinas, an exclusive boarding school, and will continue doing so in the upcoming season expected to be released in 2019.

While details regarding casting and characters are still scarce, it is known that the second season will also consist of eight-episodes and will be shot in 4K. “Returning and new characters are to be confirmed,” Netflix said in a statement.

The series stars María Pedraza, Miguel Herrán, Jaime Lorente, Itzan Escamilla, Miguel Bernardeau, Arón Piper, Ester Expósito, Mina El Hammani, Álvaro Rico and Omar Ayuso.

Elite is created and written by Carlos Montero and Darío Madrona and directed by Ramón Salazar and Dani de la Orden.
