If you’ve ever wished you could visit an entertainment complex themed around your favorite Netflix shows, we’ve got some good news for you. The streaming giant is getting ready to launch Netflix House, a series of immersive retail destinations where fans can experience their most popular shows first-hand.
According to Bloomberg’s report, these immersive destinations will offer a combination of retail, dining, and live experiences. If you think this sounds familiar, Netflix’s CEO Ted Sarandos says that you shouldn’t think of Netflix House as a Disneyland, because they’re places where “you might go to a couple times a month, not just once every couple years.”
Josh Simon, Netflix’s vice president of consumer products, told Bloomberg they’ve decided to take this step because they’ve seen how much fans love to immerse themselves in the world of their movies and TV shows, and they’ve been thinking a lot about how to take that to the next level.
Given the current state of things, launching Netflix House in the near future makes a lot of sense, since the streaming giant desperately needs additional sources of revenue. The ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike is hitting them hard, and it was recently reported that Netflix is planning to raise prices as soon as it’s over.
