Cobra Kai found a new audience since coming to Netflix and recently made it to Nielsen’s list of the most-streamed shows on this platform. Following its enormous success with the viewers, the streaming giant announced they’ll be renewing this show for another season.

Cobra Kai is set in The Karate Kid universe, and it takes place 34 years after the original movie. It’s told from the perspective of Johnny Lawrence, who finds himself rekindling the old rivalry with Daniel LaRusso after deciding to reopen the Cobra Kai karate dojo.

William Zabka and Ralph Macchio, who both got their big break thanks to The Karate Kid, returned to their respective roles in this series. The cast also includes Xolo Maridueña, Jacob Bertrand, Courtney Henggeler, Tanner Buchanan, and Mary Mouser.

Cobra Kai originally premiered on YouTube Red, but it sparked the interest of new viewers after coming to Netflix this summer. In addition to renewing the show for its fourth season, Netflix also dropped the teaser for the third season and announced it will premiere on January 8th, 2021.
