Netflix Renews “Firefly Lane” for Season 2

Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke in "Firefly Lane"

Netflix gave us one of its most popular new shows of 2021 with Firefly Lane, and they’re not saying goodbye to it anytime soon. The streaming giant renewed the adaptation of Kristin Hannah’s beloved novel for its second season.

The renewal was announced by the series’ leading ladies Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke in a cheeky video where they answered fan questions. After being asked if Season 2 is going to happen, the two stars excitedly confirmed there’s more Firefly Lane on the way.

According to its official logline, Firefly Lane centers on Tully and Kate, two best friends who “support each other through good times and bad with an unbreakable bond that carries them from their teens to their 40s.”

Firefly Lane premiered on Netflix back in February and proved to be a huge hit with the viewers. Following its release, it made it to no. 1 on Nielsen’s weekly streaming rankings, and Netflix later revealed it was viewed by 49 million people in its first 28 days. In addition to Heigl and Chalke, the series also stars Ben Lawson, Beau Garrett, and Yael Yurman.
