Netflix scored a huge hit with Ginny & Georgia, and they’re not letting go of it anytime soon. After the shocking cliffhanger at the end of the show’s last season, the streaming giant officially confirmed they’ll continue telling this story by renewing the show for two more seasons.

Ginny & Georgia centers on a 30-year-old free-spirited mother of two Georgia Miller, who moves to an affluent town in Massachusetts with her kids Ginny and Austin, looking for a fresh start in the wake of her husband’s death.

Fans of the show were hoping the series would come back given that Season 2 delivered a huge shocker at the end, and ex-showrunner Debra J. Fisher held onto that same hope.

“It will be sad that we can’t show everybody where we want to go, but boy, what a beautiful cliffhanger to end on if we don’t get to season three. We’re always putting out that positive energy that we hope that we get a chance to keep this story going,” she told Hollywood Reporter.

Debra J. Fisher won’t be back for the next season, and Sarah Glinski is set to replace her as the showrunner. It’s been rumored she would depart the series for quite some time, due to friction with Ginny & Georgia creator Sarah Lampert.
