After canceling brand-new shows left and right throughout 2020, Netflix surprised the fans of Locke & Key with some good news just in time for Christmas. The streaming giant renewed this supernatural horror series for another season.

Locke & Key centers on the widowed matriarch of the Locke family and her three children, who move into the old family residence after their father’s death only to discover there are many mysteries lurking inside.

This series was renewed for the second season shortly after its premiere back in February. Its renewal for Season 3 comes on the heels of Netflix’s new overall deal with one of the showrunners, Meredith Averill.

“I’m incredibly grateful to have found a home at Netflix where I feel constantly supported, challenged, and inspired. I look forward to continuing and expanding our relationship,” said Averill in a statement.

Her co-showrunner Carlton Cuse echoed her statement, saying they’re excited to continue telling this story with their partners at Netflix, and promised they have “some incredible adventures in store for the Locke family in season three.”
