If you enjoyed watching the cosmic adventures of the Robinson family in Lost in Space, we’ve got some good, and some bad news for you. Netflix renewed this sci-fi family show for its third season, but it’s also going to be its last.

Lost in Space reimagined the plot of the classic ‘60s show of the same name, and it first premiered on Netflix in 2018. The ensemble cast of this show included Toby Stephens, Molly Parker, Maxwell Jenkins, Mina Sundwall, and Taylor Russell, who played a family of space colonists, whose mission goes horribly wrong.

Lost in Space creator Zack Estrin, who has signed a multi-year overall deal to produce new series exclusively for Netflix, always had a clear vision for this show, and knew it was going to come to an end after three seasons.

“From the beginning, we’ve always viewed this particular story of The Robinsons as a trilogy. A three-part epic family adventure with a clear beginning, middle and end,” said Estrin in a statement, and added he’s excited about continuing to explore new stories with Netflix.
