Netflix gave us one of the summer’s most talked-about teen dramas with Outer Banks and it was just a matter of time before the streaming giant renewed it for the second season.
Outer Banks tells the tale of a group of teens from the wrong side of the tracks who embark on a thrilling treasure hunt after stumbling upon a mysterious map. Its ensemble cast features Chase Stokes, Jonathan Daviss, Austin North, Madelyn Cline, and Madison Bailey.
Jonas Pate, who co-created this show with Josh Pate and Shannon Burke, previously discussed its future with Entertainment Weekly and expressed his hope it will get much more than a season or two.
“Ever since we started, we always viewed it as something that was probably like a four-season, maybe five-season show, but definitely four seasons. We’ve sort of long-arced it out pretty far. I’m just hoping that we get a chance to actually tell those stories,” said Pate.
