The third season of Outer Banks is yet to premiere on Netflix, but the streaming giant is betting big on this series. The mystery teen drama has been renewed for its fourth season ahead of its Season 3 premiere later this month.

Outer Banks found huge success since it premiered on Netflix in 2020, and its third season will slightly shift focus. The show’s teen heroes will find themselves washed ashore on a desert island “Poguelandia”, but their idyllic getaway will come to an end once they find themselves caught up in another treasure hunt.

The show’s renewal has been confirmed during the Poguelandia Fan Event in Huntington Beach, California on Saturday, attended by the stars Chase Stokes (John B.), Madelyn Cline (Sarah), Madison Bailey (Kiara), Jonathan Daviss (Pope), Carlacia Grant (Cleo), Rudy Pankow (JJ), Austin North (Topper), and Drew Starkey (Rafe).

The Outer Banks co-creators, showrunners, and executive producers Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke were also in attendance, and later released an official statement, saying they can’t wait to “map out more twists and turns as the joyride continues into season four of Outer Banks.”

Outer Banks will return to Netflix on February 23 and its upcoming third season will feature a total of ten episodes.
