Sex/Life made quite a splash after premiering on Netflix earlier this year, and its future is looking bright. The streaming giant announced its decision to renew this series for Season 2 after 67 million households tuned in to watch its first chapter in the first four weeks since its release.
Sex/Life centers on a suburban mother of two (Sarah Shahi), whose life takes a wild turn after a bad-boy ex (Adam Demos) she can’t stop fantasizing about returns to her life. The show also stars Mike Vogel, Margaret Odette, Jonathan Sadowski, and Meghan Heffern.
Stacy Rukeyser, who created this series for Netflix, described it as “a dream come true” and said it’s incredibly gratifying to have millions of viewers dive into this story.
“When I think about all the women who have reached out from all over the world to say that the show speaks to them in a deeply personal way, I am so inspired. I’m thrilled and grateful for the opportunity to continue telling this story for Billie, and for all of us,” stated Rukeyser.
Sex/Life premiered on Netflix on June 25th, and it currently has the third-largest audience for an original Netflix series, only behind the first seasons of Bridgerton and The Witcher.
