Netflix gave us one of the most talked-about fantasy shows of the year with Shadow & Bone, and it was just a matter of time before they renewed it. That moment is finally here, as Netflix bosses officially announced this hit series is coming back for Season 2.
Shadow & Bone follows the adventures of the orphan mapmaker Alina Starkov, who discovers she possesses extraordinary powers that could forever change her fate.
The show is based on Leigh Bardugo’s bestselling fantasy series, who commented about the renewal, saying “there are so many places we’ve barely gotten to visit and I can’t wait to introduce our audience to more of the saints, soldiers, thugs, thieves, princes, and privateers who make this world so much fun to explore. It’s going to be real magic to see our brilliant, talented cast expand.”
In addition to announcing the renewal of Shadow & Bone, Netflix revealed the first season was watched by 55 million member households in its first 28 days and hit no. 1 in 79 countries following its release on April 23rd.
