It’s been about a week since Season 2 of Sweet Tooth premiered on Netflix, and we now know what the future holds for this fantasy series. Sweet Tooth has been renewed for its third season, but this will also mark the final chapter of Gus’ story.

Sweet Tooth takes place in a post-pandemic world, where the mysterious virus led to the emergence of hybrid babies. The series centers on half-human, half-deer boy Gus, and showrunner Jim Mickle is happy he got to tell his story over 24 episodes.

“In a lot of ways, it’s exactly the story that I imagined we would tell, and in a lot of ways it takes on its own life… The crew and cast bring so much depth and point of view to who the characters are and where they’ve come from and where they’re going,” said Mickle in a statement.

He also dropped hints about Gus’ journey in Season 3 and described it as an Arctic story with exciting new adventures, that will see him discovering a side of the world and humanity that he didn’t see in the first two seasons.

Season 3 will also feature several new faces, with Cara Gee and Ayazhan Dalabayeva joining the cast as Siana and Nuka. Recurring cast members Rosalind Chao and Amy Seimetz will be upped to series regulars.
