Members of the Umbrella Academy took us on one apocalyptic adventure after another over the course of the past three seasons, but all good things must come to an end. Netflix renewed The Umbrella Academy for its fourth season, which will also be its last.

Showrunner and executive producer Steve Blackman confirmed the show’s cancelation in an official statement, promising that they’ll keep fans on the edge of their seats until the final minutes with the amazing story they’re plotting for the fourth and final season.

“I’m so excited that the incredibly loyal fans of The Umbrella Academy will be able to experience the fitting end to the Hargreeves siblings’ journey we began five years ago,” said Blackman.

The Umbrella Academy is based on the comic book series of the same name, created by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá. It centers on a dysfunctional group of adopted superhero siblings, who reunite after many years apart to solve the mystery of their father’s death and stop the impending apocalypse.

The Umbrella Academy premiered on Netflix in 2017 and it stars an ensemble cast that includes Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Justin H. Min, Ritu Arya, and Colm Feore.
