S-x/Life returned to Netflix for its second season last month, and the streamer won’t be moving forward with the third season. The adaptation of the hit novel 44 Chapters About 4 Men has been canceled after two seasons.

According to Deadline, a Netflix spokesperson described the second season as “a natural close” because it wrapped up the storylines for the key characters, adding they’re planning to keep on collaborating with its producers, cast, and crew.

The cancelation of the show doesn’t come as a huge shocker after its star Sarah Shahi openly spoke about the difficulty filming it, especially after she accepted the role in ABC pilot Judgement last month.

“I’m not going to put it down, but I definitely did not have the support that I did the first season from the people involved in the show. It became a much different thing for me, and I’m not afraid to say that. I struggled with the material,” Shahi said during her appearance on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast.

In addition to Shahi, S-x/Life also starred Margaret Odette, Mike Vogel, Adam Demos, Cleo Anthony, and Darius Homayoun. It was created for Netflix by Stacy Rukeyser, who’s reportedly already plotting her next project with the streamer.
