Netflix gave us one of its best foreign-language series with Money Heist, but it’s time to say “Bella ciao” to this show. The Spanish heist crime drama has been renewed for its fifth, and final season.
Money Heist (La Casa de Papel) centers on a group of robbers trying to carry out one of the most sophisticated heists the world has ever seen—stealing 2.4 billion euros from the Royal Mint of Spain. Since premiering in 2017, the show went on to become Netflix’s most-watched non-English language series.
According to the showrunner Álex Pina, Money Heist will reach its most extreme and savage levels in the new season, which he described as the most epic and exciting one yet.
“We’ve spent almost a year thinking about how to break up the band. How to put the Professor on the ropes. How to get into situations that are irreversible for many characters. The result is the fifth part of La Casa de Papel,” stated Pina.
