Netflix Reveals Most-Watched Original Movies and TV Shows of 2018

Dylan Minnette and Katherine Langford in "13 Reasons Why"

Netflix has been pretty secretive about their viewership numbers in the past, so it goes without saying their year-end rankings took us by surprise. Rookie series On My Block took the number one spot, while The Kissing Booth turned out to be the most re-watched original movie of the year.

List of the top 10 shows mostly consisted of entries that premiered this year. The House of Cards and Marvel series Daredevil and Jessica Jones didn’t even make the cut, despite having new seasons in 2018 and being equally beloved by critics and fans.

Coming of age dramas and comedies led the way, but several documentary shows were ranked pretty high as well. Making A Murderer took the number two spot, and controversial teen series 13 Reasons Why was right behind.

The list of top original movies of the year was led by teen rom-coms The Kissing Booth and To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. It’s unclear why this list only featured three films since 2018 gave us several pretty popular offerings, including Set It Up and Sierra Burgess Is a Loser.
