Buckle up for more teen drama and romance wrapped up in comedy as Netflix is officially bringing the young-adult show Never Have I Ever back for season three. The streamer’s decision to renew the popular series comes one month after the season two premiere.

The news was confirmed on the official Never Have I Ever Twitter page. Further details like episode count and the release date of season three remain unknown.

Never Have I Ever was created by The Office star Mindy Kaling and Brooklyn Nine-Nine writer Lang Fisher. Based on Kaling’s own experience, the series follows 15-year-old Devi Vishwakumar (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan), as she tries to improve her high school experience while dealing with the death of her father. The series also stars Richa Moorjani, Lee Rodriguez, Ramona Young, Jaren Lewison, and Darren Barnet, among others.

“We are so grateful to Netflix and Universal Television for letting us continue to tell this story, and to the fans around the world who clamored to see more of this badly behaved Indian teenager,” said Kaling and Fisher in a joint statement after the news about the third season was confirmed.

The show became a huge hit among critics when it came out, being praised for its “fresh take on the coming-of-age comedy.” While Netflix doesn’t release exact viewing numbers for its shows, the streamer revealed during the Q2 report meeting last year that the series was watched by 40 million households in the first four weeks.
