New “Arrow” Spinoff is a Go Starring Katherine McNamara

It was long time rumored and now it’s official: Variety reports that a new spinoff for Arrow is in development at The CW, focusing on The Canaries. Katherine McNamara, Katie Cassidy, and Juliana Harkavy will return and reprise their roles as Mia Smoak, Laurel Lance, and Dinah Drake respectively. The show will be kicked of thematically in one of the episodes in the last season of Arrow.

The Canaries are comprised of the three characters who appeared in arrow in different stages of the series, as well as in other Arrowverse shows. They teamed up to fight crime in a future version of Star City.

The show will be executive produced by a team that includes Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Beth Schwartz, Marc Guggenheim, Jill Blankenship, and Oscar Balderrama. Schwartz, Guggenheim, Blankenship, and Balderrama will be co-writing the episode that sets the show background. Berlanti Productions will produce in association with Warner Bros. Television.

The Arrowverse contains now 6 different shows: Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of TomorrowBatwoman and the new spinoff.
