George R.R. Martin keeps testing the Game of Thrones fans. The author revealed on Wednesday that the next book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series, which was adapted into HBO’s hit series, won’t be published in 2018. Titled The Winds of Winter, the sixth novel in the series has been in works since 2011, with Martin delaying the release date multiple times since then.

“No, winter is not coming… not in 2018, at least,” Martin wrote on his website. “You’re going to have to keep waiting for THE WINDS OF WINTER. “

The author did, however, announced a new book set in the world of Westeros. Titled Fire & Blood, the book will focus on the history of Targaryens and is scheduled for release on November 20th.

“This first volume covers all the Targaryen kings from Aegon I (the Conquerer) to the regency of Aegon III (the Dragonbane), along with their wives, wars, siblings, children, friends, rivals, laws, travels, and sundry other matters.” Martin also added a second volume  is planned and will come “a few years down the pike.”

George R.R. Martin released A Game of Thrones, the first book in A Song of Ice and Fire series, in 1996. Four more novels followed, with the last one being A Dance with Dragons released in 2011. Martin initially planned for The Winds of Winter to be the last entry in the series, but later changed his mind announcing the seventh book, A Dream of Spring.
