New Notorious B.I.G. Documentary is Coming to Netflix

Netflix shared details about a new documentary focusing on the life and career of American rapper Notorious B.I.G. The release, titled Biggie: I Got a Story to Tell, will premier March 1st to commemorate the 24th anniversary of his death.

According to the announcement, the documentary is produced by Sean “Diddy” Combs and Biggie’s mother Violetta Wallace. It tells the story of the rapper’s early life and his rise to becoming one of the most influential hip-hop musicians.

Biggie: I Got a Story to Tell will feature rare and never seen before behind-the-scenes footage as well as interviews and testimonies from the rapper’s friends, collaborators, and contemporaries. This includes appearances from Biggie’s widow Faith Evans, close friend and fellow rapper Lil Cease, and others.

Several documentaries about Notorious B.I.G. have been released in past years, including 2007’s Notorious B.I.G. Bigger Than Life and 2017’s Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G. . He has also been the subject of biopic Notorious, which was released in 2009 and featured Jamal Woolard in the lead role. The movie was met with mixed reviews and was a minor box office hit.
